About Us

Every year, millions of books are published and printed. Some become bestsellers, some may become classics, and some get a little lost. We’re an independent pop-up bookstore offering a specially curated selection of used and overstock books.

We love to find books that are a little lost, we find them from stores that bought too many copies of a certain book and didn’t sell them, books from publishers that didn’t sell or perform as expected, books that people aren’t talking about anymore, or you may have forgotten about, or even a book that you didn’t know you were looking for. Ultimately, these are books that have been saved, rather than discarded, and are looking for new life.

There are a hundred reasons why a book might be lost, but ultimately we’re helping lost books find their readers.

The Lost Library started as a pop-up with a table, a few boxes of books, and an idea that we wanted to see: a bookstore that offered both curated and affordable books. We’re still here, in person, and we’re more than a warehouse or a corporation - we’re a bookstore Hannah curates and runs alongside her husband, with people behind it who simply love to read.

Almost everything on our shelves has either been read, is a book that we’ve heard about and want to read, or just flat out sounds good. We grade every book by hand, condition and all, because these books deserve a new life. There isn’t an algorithm to decide what to recommend, or what to include in our store, a person does.

We started this because we love books, and because we wanted to find good books at a good price, while supporting more than another corporation. We believe great books shouldn’t have to be expensive to be worth reading.

We love talking about books almost as much as we love finding (and reading) them. You’ll usually find us at local pop-up events, ready to recommend something, chat about what you’re reading, or just talk about books for a while. We also keep a blog where we share what we’re reading, what we’ve found, or reads for the season; because the best part of running a bookstore isn’t just selling books, it’s talking about them.

We’re here to help more books find their readers. The overlooked ones. The ones you’ve never heard of. The ones you’ve been meaning to read, and haven’t gotten to yet. Because somewhere in The Lost Library is a book that’s been waiting for you.
